Long time no hear.... Servus!

Hi there - as most of you know I am now in Germany completing an internship at a small arm of a big tech company in Munich. As a good MBA candidate I am doing this summer internship and as a good daughter I am visiting my family while am here. Yes, I am a bad wife in this case :)
Germany: Clean air, cheap food, cheap beer, horrible fashion and lots of time to kill. You know them union contracts won't allow you to work 24/7. I seem to have gotten over the culture shock of being re-introduced to Bavaria again and to the very slow pace of life which they call "Gemütlichkeit".

Mostly I work during the week, go out at night and on the weekends go to Bamberg where my parents and relatives live. Sometimes like this weekend I make an exception and go to Schweinfurt - my university town. Its really unfair to call this small and industrial little black hole "university town" but I will do this anyway. This weekend I have been invited to party at Honky Tonk festival and meet some of my study buddies ("ex" ones, Aman, don't get jealous)

You will find some pictures of my first couple of weeks here:

:: FAMILY IN BAMBERG
My family at Bamberg bbq-ing away. Its PG 13 for use of drugs, make sure you are appropriate age if you watch them. My family fits most of the Russian stereotypes - macho society with lots of vodka to support their views. I love them all to death. The lady in orange is my Mom - Raisa. She talks a lot and likes to cook.

:: Mountains around Munich - Tegernsee
beautiful spot. Its very strange to find out that this kind of tourist's attraction was only 1 hour away from where Shawn and I used to leave before we went to NYC. However : This is where the cows go to spa (otherwise known as "Alm"), people love to dress in national attire and call girls by the funny name "Dirndl" which also happens to be the national Bavarian dress for women. Adorable... We went to one of the legendary "Waldfest" which turned out to be very interesting experience. Day later we went to hike in the mountains. Believe me this is much more difficult then it sounds. As reward of getting to the top we had some "Weisswurst" with Brezen and enjoyed amazing view of the lake Tegernsee.

:: MUNICH ::
Some impressions from the summer town of Germany. Starts of with pictures of my roommate Dorothea and her lovely aparment. Then some beer gardens, old buildings, Bavarian pride, some posters and stuff. This is the touristic part of town and I will shot some more en vogue Munich hang outs. Stay tuned.

:: Little Juliana ::
No ... these are not my childhood pictures - will spare you the excitement of looking at old black and whites in Sowjet style. Shawn and I actually are god parents of an amazing little girl - Juliana Pet. She is almost 2 and one day will save the world by being either very smart or very pretty :) You know either cure the cancer or just "world peace".

:: PARTY ::
here are just some pics ... more to come :)
